Technicolor og TiVo samarbejder

Franske Technicolor annoncerer nu et samarbejde med amerikanske TiVo om at bringe TiVo softwaren til Europa i Technicolor bokse. I første omgang er det boksen DSI803 PVR, der er en DVB-S2 dual tuner PVR boks som Technicolor vil portere TiVo softwaren til. Boksen er med harddisk på minimum 320 GB

Med aftalen, der forener TiVo software og Techn icolor hardware, mener Technicolor at man kan reducere på udviklingsomkostninger og udviklingstiden.

Aftalen er en folængelse af en aftale mellem Conax og TiVo fra tidligere på året, hvor Conax gik i samarbejde med TiVo om at kunne tilbyde TiVo brugerinterface og pvr implementation. Netop Technicolor har været omtalt som værende på tale som leverandør af en ny Canal Digital high end boks. Så det bliver interessant at se om Canal Digital bokse bliver med TiVo software engang i fremtiden. Tidligere har det lydt, at Conax med TiVo integration ville være klar til kommeciel udrulning i starten af 2011.
