The storyline appears to lean heavily on the events of 1997’s Tekken 3, if not to follow it exactly. (Leroy, for one, doesn’t appear in the games until much later.) It’s a smart choice: Jin is a classic tragic hero, haunted by his saintly mother and his evil father Kazuya, with strong motivations that could easily be corrupted by the iconic villain Heihachi. As a framework for what will doubtlessly be endless fight scenes, it’s about as solid as you can get.

More than 30 years after its first issue was published, the long-awaited adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s comic book series The Sandman is coming. As in the original comic run, the new series tells the story of Dream (Tom Sturridge), also known as Morpheus, Oneiros, the titular Sandman, etc., who wakes from a captive slumber of 105 years and sets out to restore the kingdom of the Dreaming, which has fallen into chaos in his absence. The teaser gives us glimpses at Dreaming, as well as peeks at the occult ceremony that imprisoned Dream and a look at Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine, a relative of the comics’ iconic John Constantine.

Along with Sturridge, Gwendoline Christie stars as Lucifer and Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, the Dreaming’s librarian (a gender-swapped version of the comics’ Lucien). Today’s Geeked Week panel confirmed that renowned voice-over actor (and Luke Skywalker, if you like that sort of thing) Mark Hamill will be joining them as the voice of Merv Pumpkinhead, the illustrious janitor of Dreaming. On top of that, The Sandman’s packed team of co-stars also includes Charles Dance, Jenna Coleman, David Thewlis, Stephen Fry, Patton Oswalt, Joely Richardson, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Mason Alexander Park,— Donna Preston, Asim Chaudhry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Niamh Walsh, Kyo Ra, Vivienne Acheampong, Razane Jammal, Patton Oswalt, Boyd Holbrook and Sandra James-Young. Gaiman and fellow DC Comics scribe Allan Heinberg co-developed the series along with Batman Begins screenwriter David S. Goyer.
