SAT-IP – Ny standard leverer sattv signaler på hjemmenetværket
SES har på sin årlige SES Industry Days event, præsenteret en ny standard for overførsel af satellit-tv signaler via hjemmenetværket. SAT-IP, som den nye standard kaldes, blev demonstreret for 200 gæster på eventen.
Den nye Sat-IP standard demolerer og konverterer satellit-tv signaler til et IP signaler, og åbner dermed op for en mere enkel distribution og at produkter uden satellit-tv tuner som tablets, PC’er, bærbare, smartphones, TV med netværk, spillekonsoller og medieafspillere kan modtage signalerne.
SAT-IP bliver en officiel åben standard for alle producenter, og SES melder, at de nuværende prototyper kan levere op til 8 signaler på 8 forskellige enheder i hjemmet
De første SAT-IP produkter ventes på markedet senere i 2012.
