Besatt

The eight-part show is NENT Group’s first Norwegian original to reach viewers since the success of ‘Wisting’ and will premiere exclusively on NENT Group’s Viaplay streaming service across the Nordic region on 31 October.

In ‘Seizure’, four young Norwegians are found dead in an empty swimming pool in a bizarre case that rapidly brings detectives Max (Anders Danielsen Lie: ‘Oslo, August 31’) and Sander (Anders Baasmo Christiansen: ‘Kon-Tiki’) face to face both with their own demons and a dark sequence of increasingly inexplicable events.

‘Seizure’ (Norwegian title: ‘Besatt’) also features Selome Emnetu (NENT Group’s ‘Occupied’) and Marius Kolbenstvedt (‘Aber Bergen’) in supporting roles.

The series is produced by Miso Film (NENT Group’s ‘Darkness – Those Who Kill’) and directed by Rune Denstad Langlo (‘Welcome to Norway!’) and Eirik Svensson (‘Unge lovende’). ‘Seizure’ is created and written by Megan Gallagher (‘Borderliner’).

Since premiering in April, the Norwegian series ‘Wisting’ has become NENT Group’s most successful original to date in the whole Nordic region. In February, NENT Group announced ‘Commando’, an ambitious Norwegian production directed by Per-Olav Sørensen (‘Quicksand’).

Jakob Mejlhede Andersen, Viaplay Chief Content Officer: “Just like Viaplay itself, this series is one of a kind. ‘Seizure’ will grip audiences from the very start with its captivating blend of realism and the supernatural, brought to life by some of Norway’s hottest creative talents. ‘Wisting’ smashed viewing records and set new standards for NENT Group’s storytelling, and now we’re raising the bar for Nordic streamed entertainment even higher with this truly unique new drama.”

Åreakuten

Filmed in the scenic Swedish mountain village of Åre, the 10-part series will premiere exclusively on NENT Group’s Viaplay streaming service across the Nordic region in 2020.

‘First Responders’ (Swedish title: ‘Åreakuten’) follows the daily lives of hospital, police and rescue personnel in the beautiful yet sometimes hazardous Swedish mountains – where the heady altitudes set the scene for equally dramatic emotional highs and lows.

The series brings together an ensemble Swedish cast featuring Göran Gillinger (‘Maria Wern’), Karin Bengtsson (‘The Modern Project’), Mårten Svedberg (the ‘Johan Falk’ series), Nadja Halid (‘Senses’) and Tiril Wishman Eeg-Henriksen.

‘First Responders’ is produced by Joakim Hansson (NENT Group’s ‘The Lawyer’) for SF Studios and directed by Lena Koppel (‘The Importance of Tying Your Own Shoes’) and Richard Jarnhed (NENT Group’s ‘Black Lake’). Location filming is currently underway in Åre with interior scenes to be shot this autumn.

Jakob Mejlhede Andersen, Viaplay Chief Content Officer: “Our first medical drama brings a uniquely Scandinavian twist to a hugely popular genre, thanks to a compelling line-up of Swedish talents, intriguing personal stories and stunning scenery that will raise the pulse of viewers across the Nordic region. Streaming is now mainstream, and as the Nordic region’s leading streaming company, NENT Group continues to broaden our offering to reach every audience.”
